Golf Professional (Seasonal Contract) Redstone Resort

Location: Rossland, BC
Job Type: Seasonal Contract
Compensation: $30/hour + lesson revenue share

About Redstone Resort

Redstone Resort is a premier golf destination in the Kootenays, offering a unique blend of mountain golf, breathtaking scenery, and a strong community atmosphere. We are seeking a Golf Professional to lead golf operations, instruction, and player engagement for the 2025 season.

Position Overview

The Golf Professional will oversee golf-related activities, coordinate tournaments and events, provide instruction, and ensure a high-quality golf experience for members and guests. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for growing the game.

Key Responsibilities

Tournaments & Events Coordination:

  • Organize and manage Men’s Night, Ladies Night, Couples Night, and all special golf events.
  • Plan and execute club tournaments and corporate events.
  • Ensure smooth operations and outstanding player experience during events.

Golf Operations & Supervision:

  • Supervise Back Shop staff, Pro Shop Attendants, starters, and player assistants.
  • Assist in scheduling and managing the Pro Shop team.
  • Maintain Pro Shop cleanliness, merchandising, and customer service standards.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day golf operations, including tee sheet management and guest services.

Teaching & Player Development:

  • Provide private lessons, school group instruction, and golf schools.
  • Work with ownership to develop and coordinate golf instruction programs.
  • Offer on-the-spot instruction when requested by customers/players.

Liaison & Collaboration:

  • Attend weekly meetings with the Grounds Superintendent, Food Service Manager, and Management to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Communicate course conditions, policies, and player expectations to guests.

Qualification:

The successful candidate must be a CPGA professional and be in good standing.

General Duties:

  • Greet and direct visitors, ensuring all players sign in.
  • Inform players of course conditions (cart-path only, pace of play, etc.).
  • Manage rental club preparation and cleaning.
  • Process green fees, membership dues, and Pro Shop sales.
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming presence in the Pro Shop at all times.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $30-$40 per hour
  • Private Lessons Revenue Share: TBA
  • Golf School Revenue Share: TBA
  • CPGA Membership Reimbursement: The resort will reimburse CPGA membership fees in September.

Schedule & Expectations

  • A 40 hour workweek will be required, with flexibility for peak times.
  • Due to the seasonal nature of the business, the Golf Pro must ensure coverage during key events and peak hours and holiday weekends.
  • Teaching lessons may be unscheduled; the Pro Shop must have backup coverage when lessons occur.

Contract Term & Renewal

  • Term: 2025 golf season (April thru October)
  • Renewal: The contract will be reviewed at the end of the season, with an option to renew for both parties.

ProShop Supervisor – Redstone Resort

Location: Rossland, BC

We are seeking a Night Supervisor to oversee evening golf operations, ensure smooth Pro Shop management, and provide exceptional customer service.

Position Overview

The Night Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all Pro Shop staff, ensuring efficient golf operations, maintaining customer service excellence, and assisting with retail sales. This role is ideal for a leader with strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for golf hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Leadership:

  •  Supervise all Pro Shop staff during afternoon/evening shifts.
  • Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in scheduling Pro Shop employees to ensure optimal coverage.
  • Train new staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.

Pro Shop & Customer Service:

  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment in the Pro Shop.
  • Ensure all merchandise is properly stocked, displayed, and organized.
  • Process green fees, membership dues, and retail transactions efficiently.
  • Answer incoming calls, direct inquiries, and provide information about golf course conditions and policies.
  • Prepare rental clubs for guests and clean them upon return.
  • Ensure all players sign in and adhere to course guidelines.

Golf Operations & Course Coordination:

  • Oversee evening golf operations, ensuring a smooth flow of play.
  • Enforce pace-of-play policies and communicate course conditions to guests.
  • Work closely with the Golf Professional, Grounds Superintendent, and Food & Beverage team to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Assist with tournament and event preparations as needed.

Closing Duties & Facility Management:

  • Ensure Pro Shop and clubhouse are properly closed and secured at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pro Shop and surrounding areas.
  • Reconcile cash and credit transactions at the end of the shift.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in supervisory roles, preferably in a golf or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Retail experience and knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems are an asset.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of golf operations is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Hourly Wage: $22-$25 per hour
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, primarily evening shifts.
  • Seasonal Position: Contract duration will be for the 2025 golf season, with potential for renewal.

Redstone Resort is a premier golf destination in the Kootenays, offering an outstanding golf experience in a breathtaking mountain setting. We are looking for an energetic and customer-focused Cart Person to join our guest experience team and ensure smooth golf operations.

Position Overview

The Cart Person plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional golf experience by maintaining golf carts, keeping the course and facilities clean, assisting guests, and supporting golf operations. This role requires attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Golf Operations:

  • Work as part of the guest experience team to provide a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with restaurant staff to coordinate groups and tournament guests.
  • Assist in taking bookings, answering phones, and attending to guests as needed.

Cart & Facility Maintenance:

  • Clean, refuel, and properly store golf carts at the end of each shift.
  • Clean the driving range, return buckets, and repair divots on practice greens.
  • Pick up and distribute water on the course.
  • Pick up garbage on the course
  • Maintain cleanliness by vacuuming the hallways, dining room and Pro Shop.
  • Empty all trash bins and separate cans and bottles for recycling.
  • Clean the deck and ensure common areas are tidy.
  • Maintain bathroom cleanliness both in the clubhouse and on the course.

Event & Tournament Support:

  • Set up and take down events, including placing proximity markers, closest-to-the-pin markers, and tournament advertising.
  • Assist with tournament coordination and ensure guests have a seamless experience.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Support Pro Shop and restaurant staff as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and follow all Redstone Resort policies.

Requirements:

  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Basic knowledge of golf operations is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
