History meets innovation
The first golf course in the West Kootenay, the Rossland Trail Golf and Country Club dates back to 1922. In the latter half of the 1920s, the Club moved its 9 hole course closer to Rossland and built The Cabin, the original clubhouse still in use today.
Large and constructed of logs, it has a big, beautiful stone fireplace, a reminder of the history of the region and enjoyed by locals for many, many years. The Cabin, alone, is worth a trip to Redstone Resort. Still in great condition, this year the building is eighty-six years old and is among only a few log clubhouses of the era that you might ever encounter.

Renowned course designer, Furber, has expertly created 18 holes, each of beautiful tree lined greens and of championship quality. Take in the variety of creeks, ponds, ravines, and white silica bunkers.
According to Furber, inspired by the uniquely beautiful surroundings, he worked hard to preserve the natural beauty of the stunning location and make the entire course supremely memorable. He overcame the challenges of the elevation changes, designing the course to avoid too many uphill shots and make the most of those hit downhill. The greens are large with catchment areas to help keep balls from rolling into trouble. He defines the architecture of the course as “a visual delight” that “rewards well-executed golf shots.”
